Last video for my "Road to Sonic Forces" marathon and I wanted to end it with a bang. Especially since this game got me into Sonic The Hedgehog games in the first place :D. I never had any prior experience with a Sonic game, aside from a flash game on Newgrounds, which was actually quite decent.
Despite Sonic Generations playing it safe for an anniversary title, I genuinely think that this game has the best gameplay out of all 3D Sonic games to date, due in part to the fantastic level design and tweaked controls. Levels like Sky Sanctuary and Seaside Hill is where this game shines the most. Out of all the boost games so far, Generations has the best gameplay bar none.
Now to address the elephant in the room... Classic Sonic. While his inclusion in Generations wasn't as perfect since his physics aren't as accurate as his Genesis counterpart by quite a wide margin, I found his gameplay fun, simply for how good the level design is which takes into account Classic Sonic's physics limitation in Generations. Also the dynamic camera for him and how it zooms in and out depending on how much platforming is going on and even going diagonal to give you a better heads up view is a quality that deserves to be praised and has the classic Genesis games beaten in this regard... seriously.
I won't beat the bush here, I love this game. Played it way too many times... but a big flaw is the forgiving ranking system. Getting S ranks is pretty damn easy... Hence why I named this video SSStylish Edition. Here I don't just get all S ranks on the main stages, but try to play showcasing as many tricks as possible and why I adore this game. I make some mistakes here and there, but hopefully I can keep you viewers engaged.
I also like to mention that I chosen the Japanese voice over for cutscenes, since I think it fits the characters better, especially for Sonic. Plus I noticed a lack of ambient sounds and grunts during the cutscenes when using the English voice over... that's odd.
