Controversy! Death! Destruction! Ford just announced in their first quarter earnings report that they will be phasing out half their lineup, and putting more of a focus on SUVs and trucks. The Fusion, Taurus, Fiesta, and Focus will no longer be produced for North America (the Mustang is staying, thank goodness!). This means that the well-loved Focus RS and Focus ST will be leaving us soon. RIP. Ford also noted that they will be integrating more alternative powertrain options into the lineup, with their first electric car (a performance utility vehicle) to be released in 2020. By 2022, they should have 16 cars that offer some sort of electric powertrain.
