Full in-depth review of the 2018 Porsche 911 Carrera GTS. Is it the best sports car? The 911 is powered by a 3-liter twin turbo boxer-6 engine, which produces 370 horsepower and 331 lb-ft of torque. The turbos help increase power output while improving fuel economy: but they don't do much for the exhaust sound. That engine is paired with a standard 7-speed manual transmission or an optional 7-speed PDK automatic. The PDK makes use of two different clutches to change gears at an extremely fast pace, accelerating the 911 from 0-60 in 4.2 seconds. This classic Porsche packs some new tech as well, with the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) system. It can adjust the stiffness of the dampers for the perfect amount of ride comfort or grip. The 911 also has MacPherson Strut-type front suspension, Multi-link rear suspension, and two anti-roll bars. The exterior of the car has stayed very similar throughout its 50+ year history. It has a lot of aluminum body panels, classic Porsche 911 proportions, active intake flaps, bi-xenon headlamps, and 19-inch rims. There are four exhaust pipes in back on the standard 911, but cars specced with the optional sports exhaust get only two. When the car does NOT have the sports exhaust on, it sounds pretty terrible. However, when the valves are opened up, it starts to sound pretty nice in my opinion. The two different modes caused a little confusion, which is why I first said the car sounded bad and then later mentioned that it sounded pretty nice. The interior of the 911 has a nice range of materials to choose from, such as leather, alcantara, aluminum, carbon fiber, and wood. It comes with sport seats, a 7-inch infotainment system, and two different available surround sound systems. The steering wheel is inspired by the wheel in the Porsche 918, but it feels a little weird to me. Finally, I would like to apologize for the bad audio in this review. I'm in the process of upgrading my entire mic setup right now, so things should sound a lot better in the next video!
